How everything started Graphic Design

Some photographs that I took during my apprenticeship as Graphic Designer you can find here. After I finished, I knew I would study something in the future, but at that time I couldn’t decide what. Therefore, I chose to gain work experience in order to figure out my next steps. After 2½ years working, I realized that only doing graphic design isn't challenging me enough. That was when I decided to study Marketing. I didn't want to be responsible for a nice design, I wanted to change the consumer’s perspective on a product or brand and influence the Marketing strategy. 

Marketing and the Additional Qualification as PR Consultant

During my study in Marketing, I wanted to deepen my knowledge in PR and I saw a great opportunity to experience practical training such as press release writing and video training. The final project was a strategy for the internal communication of the Porsche SE.

 


Living abroad and graduating from the University of Hull

A lot of people study abroad in America, China or Indonesia to experience a different culture. I chose to go to England because I had the opportunity to go there for two semesters and to graduate. Furthermore, sometimes you won't believe how different the English culture compared to the German can be.

 


Internship in Social Media & PR at Bosch Power Tools

After finishing my year abroad, I did a short 3 month internship at the Fiducia IT AG in Karlsruhe, Germany. I worked in the Corporate Communications department and was responsible for researching, writing and copy editing articles for the house journal, as well as the intranet.

A mandatory internship at Bosch, which I needed in order to complete my study in Pforzheim, gave me first hands-on experience in the area of social media, online communities and internal communities.

Living and studying in the Digital Capital of Europe

While I worked at Bosch I realized that this could be something that I would like to do for the rest of my life. I decided to do a master at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in the Silicon Valley of Europe – Dublin, Ireland.

From what I can say until now, it was the best decision. This master combines the theoretical aspects combined with practical experience. Working with SMEs on real cases and getting the opportunity to do the Google Online Marketing Challenge and doing digital advertising on the main social media platforms.

Since August 2015 I've been working as Digital Marketing Optimizer at Accenture on site at Google. I optimize Google AdWords Accounts of large customers.
